It was necessary to evaluate my child so she can excel in her studies. The Highlands School offered me a way to do this.
Before a student enrolls in any of the programs at Highlands, school personnel will administer an educational assessment. This assessment will serve to identify the student’s strengths and weaknesses in reading, writing and math. Our goal is to identify each student’s unique learning profile. Test results will be shared with families immediately following the evaluation.
This assessment provides baseline information and serves as a tool to help us place the student appropriately into our sequential curriculum to provide for a truly individualized learning experience.
For the Lower and Middle School Program, we re-evaluate every student three times during the school year. Adjustments are made to the student's individualized program of instruction based on the results of the reassessment, thus remaining accountable for each student's academic progress.
Summer and tutoring students are also reassessed periodically.
