How We Teach Our Teachers

Teachers

The Highlands School is staffed by dedicated, well educated, experienced professionals at the administrative level as well as in the classrooms. Regardless of whether they come to us as special educators, elementary or middle school educators or reading specialists, all of our faculty members are trained in The Highlands School’s unique educational approaches, which incorporate Orton-Gillingham methods and Lindamood-Bell programs to meet the needs of students at The Highlands School. Each faculty member participates in at least 75 hours of in-service training every year and is strongly encouraged to participate in all opportunities that offer ongoing professional development and training. Faculty and staff mentor students and work in close partnership with one another to ensure that every student meets with success at The Highlands School.

A child who learns differently needs to be taught differently.
