The Beth Maahs-Hoagberg Scholarship
Beth Maahs-Hoagberg, one of the founders of The Highlands School, has been an advocate for students who learn differently all of her adult life. This scholarship fund was formed to honor her and her unending efforts to help children become successful learners for more than 35 years.
The George L. Buckless, Jr. Scholarship
George L. Buckless, Jr., one of the original Board Members of The Highlands School and first President of The Highlands School Foundation Board of Directors, has tirelessly worked to make this unique education available to those who need the remediation our program offers. This scholarship fund was formed to recognize these efforts and to encourage others to invest in our students.
The Emma Grace Bonney Scholarship
This scholarship is named in memory of Emma Grace Bonney, infant daughter of Brian and Christina Bonney, and granddaughter of Patricia Bonney, the Executive Director of The Highlands School. It was the family’s desire to honor her short life with a named scholarship that would make a difference in the life of another child.
The Senator Bob and Shirley Hooper Scholarship
The youth of Harford County were always a priority to the late Senator Hooper (1936-2008). He recognized the need to give struggling students an opportunity to be successful. As he supported The Highlands School in our efforts, we honor his work and Ms. Shirley with this scholarship.
