The Highlands School strongly believes that parents are partners in the education of their children. Faculty and staff encourage close communication between home and school at all times in order to meet the needs of our students. Phone calls, e-mail, classroom observations and parent-teacher conferences are just a few of the ways we work to provide meaningful information to parents. Parent workshops offered throughout the year also provide parents with the tools needed to help their children outside of the school setting. The parent workshops are open to the general public, and we encourage you to call if you’re interested in attending!
Additionally, the school’s active, all-volunteer Parent Association plays an important role in how the school partners with its parents. The Parent Association works closely with the school’s administration and staff to welcome new families, organize social events and rally, inform and survey parents. It works tirelessly to share information with parents, inform them of ways to get involved, and raise funds needed to off-set or cover costs for special events, field trips, guest speakers and other enrichment opportunities that add so much each child’s experience at The Highlands School!
